Farm Home School serves school age clients in residence at the Children’s Farm Home, a residential mental health facility operated by Trillium Family Services.

Instruction

Students attend classes Monday through Thursday, August-June.

The average class size averages 16 or less pupils. Teachers provide individualized and small group instruction with standard curriculum and a variety of online and computer based programs. Trillium staff also act as coaches during the school day in each classroom.

Classes for Redwood and Sequoia students are self contained with instruction in core content areas and opportunity for credit recovery.

Students from Mallett, Powers, and Cummings cottages attend classes in the Farm Home School buildings located in the northwest part of the campus. Middle school students attend a self contained classroom. High School Students attend content area courses with opportunities for credit recovery.

High School Students

Credits:
Farm Home School is an accredited high school (9-12). Students who attend regularly, participate and complete course requirements with passing grades (A-D) will receive credit. Credits are posted on transcripts once the course has been completed.

GED Option Program:
The GED Option Program is available at Farm Home School. To be eligible for placement in GED preparation classes, students must meet certain criteria:

  • 16+ years of age
  • Sufficient academic skills (8th grade or higher) to pass GED tests
  • Lack credits to graduate with cohort
  • Treatment/IEP team support placement in GED preparation program
