About Us

LBL ESD, as an organization, will be a leader and resource in support of equity, diversity and inclusion for employees, families, students and schools in our service communities.

Equity

Equity is ensuring individuals or groups are treated fairly and equally specific to their needs.

Diversity

Diversity encompasses acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies. It is creating a safe, positive, and nurturing environment in which to explore differences. It is about understanding each other and moving beyond simple tolerance to embracing and celebrating the rich dimensions contained within each individual.

Inclusion

Inclusion is creating an environment where everyone is valued, respected, supported and welcomed. It recognizes that everyone is diminished if all are not represented.

Leadership

Leadership is a process of social influence, which maximizes the efforts of others, towards the achievement of a goal.
