At Linn Benton Lincoln ESD, we understand the unique challenges faced by students with vision impairments. Our Vision Impairment (VI) Program is designed to enhance educational success for students from birth to 21 years old by providing comprehensive services, instruction, and support tailored to their individual needs.
Eligibility for Services
To qualify for the LBL ESD Cascade Regional Vision Program, students must meet the state eligibility requirements for visual impairment, which include:
- A vision examination by a licensed optometrist or ophthalmologist
- A functional vision assessment conducted by a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Documentation that the vision impairment adversely impacts the student’s educational performance or developmental progress, necessitating special education services
Comprehensive Service Delivery
Our team of experienced professionals, including Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) and Orientation and Mobility Specialists, offer a range of services to support students with vision impairments, such as:
