Autism Spectrum Disorder is considered a Regional (“low incidence, high need”) disability. The Autism Consultation Program through LBL ESD is designed to enhance educational success by providing information, training, and support to staff and families who are impacted by autism. ASD Consultants provide support to school staff who implement IFSPs (Individual Family Service Plan) or IEPs (Individualized Education Program) to children/students residing in Linn, Benton, or Lincoln counties.

Who is Eligible for ASD Consultation Services?

Students must be found eligible for special education under the eligibility of Autism Spectrum Disorder to be considered for ASD consultation services.

Consultation Services

Support may be provided to the educational team on a variety of topics including:

  • IFSP or IEP support
  • Curriculum adaptation
  • Environmental modifications
  • Behavioral support
  • Communication development
  • Social skills
  • Self-Advocacy skills development
  • Vocational/career skills development
  • Daily living skills
  • Training for school staff or other students
